It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a representative in the phone and no way to leave a message. When you call the main social security office, they direct to your local office and it's a vicious and nerve wrecking circle! You wait on hold after going through all of the prompts forever and then a recording comes on that states, "thank you for patiently waiting. All of our representatives are busy and can not answer your call. PLEASE TRY YOUR CALL LATER". Later never comes because this is the identical same thing EVERY time you attempt to call them. Should at least set up a que to leave yor number for a return call! Totally frustrated and also with the rude representatives at the toll free main number who won't even transfer you to a supervisor.

These people are terrible! My family started getting social security a couple months ago. Paychecks have not changed except that I am getting less hours at work and for some unknown reason, the Olean NY social security office decided that we make too much money! No new information was given to them..and we are actually making less money than before but they are unreachable and have impossible hours for someone that has a job to try to discuss anything with them! And if you call, they will literally tell you that everyone one is busy and hang up on you! I faxed them the correct info weeks ago but still no response, despite my calling efforts. I don't understand how there are so many people that just don't wanna work that can get ssi, no big deal but for a single mom that works hard at her full time job and isn't able to get a second one because of her child's disability, it gets cut for literally no reason. Even the federal ssi office is fed up with up with them!
Should at least be open til 5 pm Mon. thru Fri. One of those nights
be open till 8 pm would be helpful for a lot of people.
Went in to get replacement ss card. Card never came and when I called them was told they can't issue card unless I come in. When I explained I had already done so, they told me I will have to start over since it has been more than 10 days since I went in. Ugh!!!
